Parent Teacher Organization (PTO)

Welcome to the PTO!

We’re a newly formed Parent–Teacher Organization (PTO) working to support our school community—students, teachers, and families alike. Our goal is simple: build connections, strengthen our school, and help fill gaps.

Because we’re new, we’re intentionally staying flexible and community‑driven. We’re learning as we go, and we’re excited to shape our work based on what families and staff need or care most about.

What We’ve Been Working On

So far, our efforts have focused on a few key areas:

Grant Writing & Fundraising
We’re exploring grants and organizing fundraisers to bring additional resources to our school to support school and classroom needs, provide enrichment opportunities, and fund special projects that might not otherwise be possible.

Community & Social Connection
Strong schools are built on strong relationships. We’ve started hosting low‑key, welcoming events like caregiver coffee meet‑ups and “Night Out” events to help families connect with one another and feel more at home in our school community.

Teacher & Staff Appreciation
We’re finding ways to show gratitude for the incredible work our teachers and staff do every day.
This has included providing meals and refreshments at key moments throughout the school year, like Back-to-School and Teacher Appreciation week.

These are just starting points. As a new PTO, we’re very open to new ideas and directions. For example, we’re also interested in building toward larger, longer-term goals, such as facilitating greater volunteerism by creating a campus-wide volunteer database, and fundraising to help provide additional support staff during lunch and recess times. These efforts will take time and collaboration, but we see them as possible areas to grow into together as a community.

How You Can Get Involved

There’s no one right way to participate, every contribution matters.

We’re especially interested in support with translation into Spanish, as well as other languages spoken in our school community. Language access is key to making sure all families feel informed, welcomed, and able to participate.

Other ways to get involved include:

  • Attend a meeting or community event
  • Help with a fundraiser or appreciation activity
  • Share ideas for projects or priorities
  • Volunteer occasionally or take on a leadership role

Whether you have lots of time or just a little, your voice and perspective are welcome. Everyone on the 2025-2026 PTO board is a working parent, so we understand how hard it can be to find time so any level of participation, in any capacity, is truly appreciated.
