Roadmap to Reopening

We have a plan. More precisely, at this stage in our Roadmap to Reopen, we have published our Preliminary Reopening Plan for the 2020-21 school year. This is not our final plan, but it is a major milestone in our Roadmap to Reopen. Please review and become familiar with our Preliminary Reopening Plan.

A letter from the Principal

Dear Fair Oaks Families,

The official Last Day of School was yesterday, June 3. It has been a challenging year and I thank all families for their patience and perseverance working at home with their students. Some families still need to turn in chromebooks and library books and pick up their students' belongings from school. I will be at work until June 26 but the office is closed. Please send me an email to to let me know when you want to come by the school.

School will start again on August 13. At this time we don't know what restrictions we will be under due to the COVID-19 virus, but there will be school. District teams are working on the problem right now and I expect that we will use a "hybid" model where students spend some time at school in a safe environment and some time using technology to learn at home. Watch for notices from me and the district to tell you how to prepare for the new school year.

Fair Oaks School will have a different look in 2020-21 because five current teachers are retiring or moving to a different school. Because Fair Oaks enrollment is shrinking, we will have two fewer classroom teachers next year than we did this year. This means we will have a lot of combination grade classrooms. We are placing your students in the class that best fits their academic needs. Please look at the Fair Oaks website ( for updates and new information.

Mr. Pierce
